Nordstrom 'Monaco' Sandal

First to recommend

Description

I usually think wedges look clunky and ugly, but these ones are actually very sleek and sophisticated (this pic doesn't do it justice). They're also remarkably comfortable. I can't wait for the summer weather to start so that I can wear these out more often.

SanDisk Sansa MP3 Player

Description

Hooray for flash-based players!

I'm really happy with my Sansa and I think of so many reasons why I prefer it above the Ipod Nano.

For starters, I can just drag and drop mp3 files into the player using Windows Explorer rather than having to go use some stupid software like ITunes or Windows Media Player. (For video, though, you'll have to use the program that comes with the Sansa, but it's a very small and simple application that gets the job done in a jiffy.)

Secondly, the battery on this is replacable (although you'll have to remove four tiny screws to get to it, but I don't consider that a big deal). Also, the expandable memory slot is a really great addition. Why don't all mp3 players have one of those?

The video quality is surprisingly good, and the voice recording feature has turned out to be surprisingly useful for recording class lectures and personal reminders.

I also find the click wheel on this easier to use than the Nano's click wheel.

And last but not least, the Sandisk is less expensive than the Nano. Bingo!

The only warning I have is that, like the Ipod, the Sansa's screen gets scratched really easily, so you should definitely get one of those cheap, stick-on protective covers (they're less than 10 bucks, it's worth the investment).

This vibrator is small, straightforward, and totally does the trick - plus it uses normal AA batteries (unlike so many other models). I've bought one for each of my girlfriends on their birthdays and now they are all hooked on it too!

Description

A great gift idea! Donate a cow, sheep, pig or other gift animal to a needy family who can then use your gift to become more self-reliant. I'm making donations on behalf of all the people on my Christmas list this year (because really, who among them actually needs more stuff?). If you place your order early enough, Heifer will send you a special greeting card that you can pass onto your recipient friend or family member to let them know about your gift donation.

Xhilaration Ballerina Flats

First to recommend

Description

They're the most attractive ballet flats I've found yet (simple and pretty, like ballet flats should be), and they're So! Cheap! I like how versatile they are - I can pair them with my favorite jeans for a casual look or with a party dress for a night on the town - and they're a really comfy alternative to black pumps.
Yet another reason to love Target.

"Stop Genocide in Sudan" t-shirt

Description

Fashion for a very good cause!

For the last two years, concerned college students in SoCal have been making and selling these great shirts in order to raise awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur. The shirts are American Apparel (which means they're sweatshop-free!) and are sold AT COST - the hope is that people will resell them in their own communities and then donate the proceeds to a worthy charity (such as the International Rescue Committee, which is dedicated to aiding refugees and finding a solution to the genocide problem). So far thousands of dollars have been raised through this tshirt campaign.

The shirts come in 10 different colors and feature a fabulous graphic on the front with the words "Stop Genocide in Sudan." Everytime I wear one of mine out I always get questions and comments about it, which I think is just fantastic!

Visit the Students Against Genocide website for more info.
