With over 20 year in the makeup business, Paul Starr has produced prolific body of work, which has been showcased in numerous music videos, commercials, editorials, films, and his own book, “Paul Starr: On Beauty.” Starr takes his inspiration from film, art, and daily experience, using makeup to revolutionize the concept of beauty. Starr has collaborated with such iconoclasts as Herb Ritts, David La Chapelle, Annie Lebovitz, Helmut Newton, Tim Burton and Spike Lee and created memorable faces for Madonna, Björk, Lauryn Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Salma Hayek, Sophia Loren, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan, David Bowie, and Gwen Stefani. As if that weren’t enough, Starr has also built an enviable reputation in the fashion world, keying shows for Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, and Dolce & Gabanna. He was also the founding beauty editor of Flaunt Magazine, where he stayed until 2001, creating the edgy and spectacular looks he’s famous for.
