I'm an eco-entrepreneur, blogger, and designer.

Shea Gunther is an eco-entrepreneur, blogger, designer, and media architect. He is a founder and the publisher of Green Options ( http://www.greenoptions.com/) as well as Editor in Chief of Planetsave.com. He founded Renewable Choice Energy in 1999 and even has a failed dotcom under his belt- having raised $16M+ in VC funding at the tail end of the dot com bubble for a "YouTube Too Early" site called Zoom Culture. He lives in Portland, Maine with his beautiful wife, two daughters, and awesome cat named Fee. When he's not trying to save the world he plays Ultimate Frisbee, rock climbs, and ponders his strange fascination with the word "rhubarb". What is the next…

Purchase you’ll make?

A cup of Green Mountain Fair Trade Mocha Raspberry coffee at my local shop. I walk there most mornings to pick a cup of coffee up for my wife and to get one of their awesome cinnamon rolls.

Trend in design?

Cradle to Cradle, biomimicry- designing your products with the whole life cycle of the product in mind. What happens to the stuff that makes up your product when it's time on earth is up? We should be able to either compost it or put it back into production at the same level it started- that is, true recycling not downcycling. It's great and all to chop up plastic bottles to make benches (can't make bottles out of them again), but eventually where does that bench go when it's old and replaceable? If it's getting tossed into a landfill then you've only delayed it's Cradle to Grave path. We need to be much much smarter with our resources, but if we use great design we can do it without moving into caves.

Car you’d like to own?

It's a tie between a Tesla Roadster and a pimped out solar mod VW Vanagon.

Big step you’d like to make?

Living a eco+ life- the fully Green life that gives more to the health of the planet and my community rather than the normal negative model. Being "Carbon Neutral" isn't enough- who wants to aspire to being Neutral?

Fad that will fade?

Extreme Right Wing BushCo. Thinkspeak

Vacation you’ll take?

My wife lived through her first Maine winter here last year and has made it pretty clear that we'll be going somewhere warm for two weeks in February every year. We'll find something green where I can get internet and go duck out into the sun for a few weeks. I would like to think that I could go without my laptop, but I know better. I would go through massive internet withdrawal.

Thing you’re going to fight for?

The world.

Secret that’s going to leak?

I gotta hope that after Bush runs out the clock on his term that we'll hear more about some of the back-alley machinations that went on between him and his crew.

Hollywood blockbuster going to be about?

I don't know what it will be about, but it's going to be directed by my friend Christian Wisecarver (http://www.youtube.com/user/SuperSecretProject), an up and coming actor/singer/director/producer who is busting his ass to get the call up to the big leagues.

Life you’ll lead?

Exactly the one I choose for myself.

Fountain of youth?

Living the life you choose for yourself.

Book you’ll read?

Harry Potter VII, as soon as my wife Heather finishes it.

Thing that will change the world?

Green Business.

Guilty-pleasure food in which you’ll indulge?

The donut I just opened up. Yum!

Person to whom you’ll say, “I love you”?

My wife and children.
