My Info

About Me

I am a jewelry / accessory / superfluous but mandatory thing designer, and all around obsessive-compulsive creative type... It seems I am only happy when I am making and/or discovering things... taking them apart... mixing them up... then putting them back together... and doing it again cause it can always be better ... more desirable...more entertaining... intriguing... inspiring... I love what I get to do with my time, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity, and I do what I can to not let a second pass without making the most of it (which doesn't always work as planned)

I am an admin for sexynotscrewed.com a (neglected -- these days) fashion blog.
I love to find up and coming designers, I try to stay on top of up coming trends, I keep an eye out for classics (wardrobe staples), and go from being a total label whore to total indie designer groupie... But the last two months I kind of took myself off the 'trend' map to develop my - solo - jewelry / superfluous but mandatory thing project. My interests are so across the the board, and / or off of the board completely, that fleshing out a cohesive line was a bit medieval at times, but also completely euphoric.

Whatever it is I add to thisnext, I try to keep it unique, outrageous, drop dead gorgeous, and/or absolutely must be seen/ worn / used / read... I 'm not recommending myself because... I think whether or not "I'm Next" is for you guys to decide... and I like adding things that inspire me... thisnext is my pure fashion / decor / beauty / and all things superfluous but mandatory over dose... It kind of helps me have an outlet for my absolute love of fashion in general... that way my jewelry designs are jewelry (for the most part) and not jewelry designed with a head full of baroque style headboards and 'cassette tape' tape dispensers (some of it sneaks in... but I promise that I am not trying to convince people to wear headboards yet ;)

One that eases the $500 a gallon crunch

Big step you’d like to make?

Opening the online store ... for the love of god!

Fad that will fade?

It kind of seems like fads are fading... extreme sensory overload... it's strange, we are going back to classic design / style / etc... but doing it in ways that pay tribute to, and at the same time defy the movement we are emulating... **If you have no interest in heady / philosophical nonsense skip the following: [I was a dual major - Science and Philosophy *nerd* - But most of my college years were spent wrapping my head around post modern concepts - conceptuality in general (Derrida for those fellow masochists who happen to be reading and Nietzsche - Nietzsche in relation to post modern theory in general -- or theory in general ;) ---- And I find cursory references to 'deconstruction' and 'post-structuralism' annoying ... especially where art / design is concerned... too many books with titles flashing the sexy philosophy term du jour "Deconstruction and Art" -- the contents were model houses deconstructed... profound... That being said... and not said... I get it... but I've grown to detest prologues ...that and I studied under baddasses... like being intellectually spoiled I love what is going on... but that it is going on ... with or without our scholarly, or not so scholarly as the case may be , observations --- I get a decent amount of questioning related to my choice of vocation... given my background... for those curious... much of what I explained above explains my zipped lip about the whole thing... ** non-heady people are safe to chime back in :)

I've gone from super serious competitive athlete to model to singer ((judd style with my ma and sis (I was 5... just to allow myself justification ;), then opera, then pop, then back to "singing" jazz)) to philosophy / art / science student in college to graphic/web designer to jewelry designer... and chronic blogger / ThisNexter... as long as I get to be creative... grow... travel... and have my curiosity peaked, I'm good ....

Fountain of youth?

LAUGHING

Book you’ll read?

More philosophy, more poetry tucked away on library shelves, fairy tales, in no certain order
