I was sick with the flu this past week. So I decided to catch up on some film-watching. I bought the wonderful DVD Handmade Nation a couple weeks back, and had just got it in the mail. It was amazing, full of great people making a living creating craft, however they chose to define it. One of the people featured in the documentary was Nikki McClure, who makes these astonishing paper cut pieces. After learning about her, and her popular calenders, I knew I had to rush out (to the internet) and get one myself!

Oh how I love Tim Burton. Ok, sometimes his movies aren't quite as awesome as I'd like them to be, but as far as a visual artist, he's right up my alley. I love the dark, macabre worlds he creates. MoMA in New York is having a retrospective running from Nov 22 2009-April 26, 2010. This is the book that accompanies the exhibition, so even if you can't make it to the museum, you've gotta snag the book!
