About Me
During the three and a half decades I’ve spent traveling the world, one driving passion has been a constant: I believe travel is one of the greatest tools we have for promoting world peace and understanding among cultures. After spending three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, I chose to follow my “travel path" by pioneering adventure travel options for women. Since 1982, planning trips through my company, AdventureWomen Inc, has enabled groups of women to travel together safely and in comfort, and has been my way of making a contribution in the world. Group travel for women not only connects us with others but also helps us better understand ourselves and the collective consciousness of the world.

What is the next…
Purchase you’ll make?
A massage as often as possible. I work and play hard, and need this for relaxation.
Trend in design?
For baby boomers as we age: environmentally sensitive housing communities of elegantly designed smaller houses with shared common areas amid wide open spaces.
Car you’d like to own?
The one I own now, a Chevy Tahoe 4 X 4 that pulls my horse trailer and gets me to my mountain log cabin in any weather.
Big step you’d like to make?
Spend more time at home in Montana, playing in my garden and with my animals.
Fad that will fade?
Reality TV.
Vacation you’ll take?
Sailing and scuba diving in the British Virgin Islands, the only trip I run for my company that feels like a vacation for me too!
Thing you’re going to fight for?
A cure for breast cancer. I see too many women on my trips who have had it.
Secret that’s going to leak?
That women over 50 are the premier, most flexible, and most fun adventure travelers, something I’ve known for over 25 years!
Hollywood blockbuster going to be about?
An action movie starring my two favorite actors, Robert Redford and Meryl Streep, with me as the cinematographer!
Life you’ll lead?
A BALANCED life, where work, family, friends and outdoor activities all get equal time.
Fountain of youth?
Staying active, both physically and mentally.
Book you’ll read?
Leaving Mother Lake, A Girlhood at the Edge of the World, by Yang Erche Namu & Christine Mathieu. A fascinating memoir about a young girl who grows up in a matriarchal society in a remote Himalayan region of China and becomes a star.
Thing that will change the world?
When people (governments) realize that wars make no sense at all.
Guilty-pleasure food in which you’ll indulge?
Vietmanese food at the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam. 1
Person to whom you’ll say, “I love you”?
Any one of my relatives or my extended family of friends.
