Thorn Cafe Table Lamp

First to recommend

Description

The Fairy Tale Collection takes its inspiration from the imagery that floats around classic storytelling.

Michael Aram on the lamp: "There is such power in narrative images for me. There is a feeling that we're creating an entire imaginary world, building designs around interactive themes that are familiar to all of us. For me, these "Thorn" pieces feel seductive and dangerous, and at the same time exude so much charm and a sense of fantasy. I love examining a natural form which is often ignored or discarded." Black Bar Glasses

Description

I don't need these. I just really, really want them.

A party prop extraordinaire. Trust me- toss 'em on a table with some disposable cameras. Then brace yourself- men who have had a lot of martinis tend to feel that exposing a nipple is hysterically funny. And like lemmings, once one goes the partial Monty, the others will follow. These encourage such antics. Take it from my experience.... if I ever write a psyche thesis, it will likely be on that phenomenon.

Thank me when you develop the film. Preferably with expensive chocolate bon bons. Unless you get a disturbing number of male nipple shots. In that case, I warned you.

Crosley AV Room Portable USB Turntable

6 people recommended this item

Description

This portable record player not only plays all of your LPs, but it turns them into MP3s when plugged into your mac or pc via a USB cable. Handy. It's features include an, "automatic return tone arm; diamond stylus needle; adjustable tone control; built in dynamic full range stereo speakers; solid wood construction; vinyl wrapped; chrome snap closure; corner guards; metal and resin handle." Not sure what all of that means, but basically it's a classy looking record player that does more than turn your picnics into French inspired escapades. I want I want.

The Shocking Speech-Recognition Wristband

First to recommend

Description

The Buzzword shock bracelet, which works a lot like the electric shock collars we put around dogs with boundary issues, can detect when you use those words, and will emit a mildly painful shock.

The included software lets you program your own problem words and lets you track your progress. For example, when "think outside the box" falls from 600 shocks in June to just 1 in August, you might be ready to turn that phrase off to leave room in the wristband's memory for the ever-increasing new bank of words which mean absolutely nothing.
