Way to go, ME!

First to recommend

Description

Human beings are pretty amazing; however, we spend too much time and energy focusing on our shortcomings and failures. We forget to reward ourselves for the little things we do everyday that really are HUGE. By sharing our minor accomplishments, we may help others remember to celebrate their tiny victories too.

Yes, I do understand that this tee is not for everyone...but, they are really funny. For a good laugh, check out the entire alphabet set...unless you are easily offended by somewhat X-rated pictures on kids tees. The site has tons of other funny things too; I especially love the worry pillow. (via The Ferret...Online)

Angel cards...because I need all the help I can get!

First to recommend

Description

My cousin Beth first taught me about Angel Cards several years ago. I completely forgot about them but found them again last year and have given them as a gift to a few close friends. Each box has 72 cards with simple messages such as inspiration, risk, patience and celebration. The set does include instructions on how to use the cards, but I like to think that you can use them in the manner that works best for you. I have heard of groups of people who throw all of the cards in bowl and pick one or more cards at random and discuss what it means to them. Other people have told me that they pick one card and meditate on it for some period of time. I am not very spiritual and use mine in a bit more subtle manner; I choose the cards that are meaningful to me at a particular time in my life and keep them in my wallet. I don't really pull the cards out of my wallet often, but I feel better knowing they are there...especially when I have forgotten about them and stumble across a particularly poignant one... Mealtime is fun

Description

Since I have been nominated for Best Aunt Ever, I am always on the look-out for cute things for my nephews. I was at Target the other day and found these adorable melamine plates. I bought one monkey plate and one crab plate. And, my nephews love them...so much so that my sister asked if they have any other designs because the boys love them so much. So, of course I had to get a few of the fish ones too! They are sold in sets of 6 online, but you can buy them individually in the store. (via The Ferret...Online)

Eat This Not That: Thousands of Simple Food Swaps That Can Save You 10, 20, 30 Pounds-or More!

Description

David Zinczenko, editor in chief of Men's Health magazine and frequent Today Show guest, has co-written a really cool non-diet book. Eat This Not That: Thousands of Simple Food Swaps That Can Save You 10, 20, 30 Pounds-or More! is a great resource for anyone who has to "eat on the go". The 300 page book is almost exclusively comprised of glossy photographs comparing fast food choices. I think many people will be surprised to learn that the McDonald's Quarter Pounder® is a better choice than the Premium Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich. And, if you are worried that this book is not for you because you don't eat fast food...never fear - it also includes smart choices at the grocery store as well as other restaurants. Anthousa Collection Lavender and Chinese May Chang

First to recommend

Description

I love home fragrance diffusers, but have previously used a few that are waaay too strong...if the fragrance is too heavy, they almost smell bad. That is not the case at all with the Lavender and Chinese May Chang diffuser from Anthousa's Chinoiserie Collection. It is so fresh and clean, but very subtle and not the least bit overpowering. I smile every time I walk in the my house...the fragrance combination is intoxicating and calming at the same time. It really is a quite perfect blend. (via The Ferret...Online)

Jo Malone | Cologne Collection

Description

I was introduced to Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin several years ago and immediately fell in love. I then learned about the Jo Malone philosophy of fragrance combining and expanded to a few other scents. I have completely run out of every bottle I have and have not been able to decide on a new one to try. I have been begging Jo (secretly) to create a box just for me with some smaller sizes of some of her top scents...my prayers have been answered! Her new Cologne Collection has six of her top fragrances - each can be worn alone or combined to create your own signature scent. (via The Ferret...Online)

Catalog Choice

I love catalog shopping, but can't seem to get removed from the mailing lists of the catalogs I would rather not receive. I've tried submitting my information online and have even called a few and have not had much luck. I recently heard about a great site called Catalog Choice - it is a free service that lets you opt-out of unwanted catalogs. It was easy to sign up and search for the catalogs I no longer want to receive...my fingers are crossed that this will work... (via The Ferret...Online)

Somme Institute

First to recommend

Description

My skin has never looked so bad...but, that is what is called a "positive effect" by Somme Institute. Because I loved their packaging, I was hopeful about the results. But, the science behind the line is the real reason I was so optimistic and the reason I stuck with it. After using their regimen for a few weeks, everything that had been hiding in my pores rose to the surface. It was not pretty, but now that I am past that point, I must say that my skin feels and looks great! I even asked my friend Tanya to examine my skin as closely as I do (when I am an inch away from the mirror). She agreed that my "not so fine" lines look so much better than the last time I made her check them out...and my pores (which in all fairness are not huge) are barely visible.

Are the products inexpensive? No, but the results are amazing and absolutely worth the price. Try the mobile kit if you aren't ready to make such a big commitment at first. (via The Ferret...Online)

Description

My friend Pauline has helped me fill my closet with the most amazing tees in every color and style imaginable! Her company, LILLA P, makes tees that are classic and fashionable without being trendy. They are so soft...they don't shrink...they don't fade...and, they are long enough to wear with lower jeans. They are also very versatile...lots of mixing, matching and layering. The most versatile piece of all is the Origami Wrap. It is shown here in eight different options. It is the most perfect travel top...take the origami, a few things to wear on the bottom and you'll have an entire vacation wardrobe!

Ferret readers can get 20% off any LILLA P purchase until 10.25.07 using the code ferret. (via The Ferret...Online)
