Squeeze Me - Lemon Squeezer

Description
When I have to squeeze lemons for cooking or for adding some fresh flavor to my iced tea, I'm tired of being squirted in the face and plucking out those sneaky rogue seeds from these mischievous little tropical fruits. Maybe you don't have these issues, but I seem very prone to abuse from my citrus. I found another solution to this dilemma, the cool new Squeeze Me - Lemon Squeezer ($27).
Simply drop a lemon half into the bulb end of the Squeeze Me Lemon Squeezer, attach the spout and squeeze away, hmmm, feel free to absolutely crush them! As the fragrant juice flows forth from the spout, all of the seeds and pulp are safely contained and held at bay by a built-in retainer. If there is any unusued juice left over, simply store the whole thing in the fridge.
This is a great culinary weapon in the war against lemons that like to assault and frustrate the cook, but where there's lemons, there's always evil limes! (via Michael Kiely)

Description
If you're looking for a new desktop fan to effectively cool you down at the office this summer, check out the Vornado Flippi Fan ($40). This small but powerful fan can propel a jet of air up to 30 feet using Vornado's signature Vortex technology and an AirTensity grill. This two speed whisper quiet fan flips and oscillates to direct air where you need it and even folds up when not in use. I think it bears repeating - a 30 foot beam of air! You're going to need a strong paperweight and possibly a scarf. (via Michael Kiely)

Description
The cool new Automatic Locking Pet Sensing Door ($250) automatically locks and unlocks it's flap only when it detects a coded smart key attached to your dog or cat's collar. This high-tech pet door supports one to five smart keys and gives your pets unlimited passage in and out of the home, while preventing any of their friends from getting back in. The sensor's range can be adjusted from 6 inches to 6 feet and the door automatically locks approximately 15 seconds after it is out of range. This secure, sealed, weatherproof ABS frame with rigid polycarbonate flap installs in standard doors from 1 1/2" to 2" thick. Great solution for many pet owners, but hopefully your dog or cat actually returns. (via Michael Kiely)

FakeTV - LED Television Simulator Deters Burglars

Description
It's the middle of summer vacation season and there will be many unoccupied homes protected only with lights on timers. This is America and if the lights are on all night and the flickering glow of the television isn't, more than likely nobody is at home. One of the best ways to deter thieves, burglars, prowlers and other criminals lurking about your neighborhood looking for easy targets is to leave that television on. The only problem with putting a television on a timer is that it's an environmental waste of energy, expensive and worst of all, most televisions don't even work with timers because they need to be turned on with the push of a button. Well it's no longer a problem, I found a great new solution!
Make your house look occupied and lived in with the cool new FakeTV - LED Television Simulator ($40). This innovative burglar deterrent device uses computer-controlled, super-bright, multi-color LEDs to simulate the changing light, scene changes, fades, swells, flickers, on-screen motion, and color changes just like a real television. When positioned correctly in a room, the effect of someone watching television inside is perfectly replicated to anyone who happens to be standing outside. A thief would more than likely not take any chances, skip your house and hopefully just move onto your neighbor's.
This little gadget is perfect for frequent travelers, long trips and vacations, vacant homes, vulnerable people, bad neighborhoods or simply for general peace of mind. It might also be helpful as a sleep aid for those who like to fall asleep to the soft flickering glow of a tv. Cool idea, huh? (via Michael Kiely)

Description
Classic arcade video games like Pac-Man, Donkey-Kong and Galaga may have been forever lost to ancient history, but you can still bring a piece of this retro fun into the home with these cool new Space Invaders Cutting Boards ($130). These handmade wooden cutting boards have one of the famous space invaders embedded right into the woodgrain. They are made of durable dark walnut and hard-maple cubes that are glued together and then sanded and polished to a shiny finish. You better skip the arcades for awhile and save up those quarters quickly, because these galactic cutting boards are extremely limited and once they are gone, it's game over! (via Michael Kiely)

Description
The problem with all headphones, earphones and earbuds is that you simply can't hear what is going on in the world around you. I don't know how many times I have missed phone calls, knocks on the door, doorbells, car horns, smoke alarms, people screaming at me, trains, air raids, explosions, tornado sirens and more simply because I couldn't hear them with my headphones on. Well, with the cool new AirDrives Earphones ($80), I can finally enjoy my music and still be completely aware of my surroundings.
Unlike most earphones that block the ear canal from ambient sounds, the AirDrive speakers create less sound pressure levels because they rest comfortably outside the ear on the small protuberance anterior to your ear canal called the tragus. While delivering great sound quality at only 80 dB at the inner ear level, you will still be able to hear what is going on around you. These earphones are absolutely perfect for the office, jogging, working out or anywhere else you still need to hear the outside world. Even better, these earphones meet and surpass OSHA's federal all-day listening standard. (via Michael Kiely)

I'm not a regular user of the ancient chopstick during meals, but if I was, I would carry these cool new Collapsible Chopsticks ($30). Simply slide the wooden white ash tips out of the hollow stainless steel upper section and screw the two pieces together using the all brass hardware. After you are finished with your meal, wash the chopsticks, collapse them back down and stow them safely away in the included weather-resistant nylon pouch. Description
Trimming my cat's claws is usually a painful experience - for me! As soon as the clippers come out, she goes into a literal hissy fit of deadly swipes, possessed growling, psychotic tail thrashing and snapping fangs. I know she's just a little cat, but it's an absolutely terrifying experience trying to hold her down, while protecting myself and carefully clipping her nail without hitting the quick! Well, I think I found a possible solution to get through this routine operation a little quicker.
The QuickFinder Deluxe ($80) is a cool new nail clipper for dogs, cats, birds and other small pets with a built-in automatic sensor that distinguishes between nail tissue and the quick (the sensitive tissue below the nail line). When the blade has reached a safe trimming depth, a green LED lights up to give you the go ahead to cut. The blades are made of stainless steel to cleanly and painlessly clip the nail so you can get the whole nightmarish ordeal over as "quick" as possible. (via Michael Kiely)

Does your toaster still pop up the toast? Well, down is the new up in the 21st century with the cool new Trapdoor Toaster ($80). After this unique 1,400 watt toaster has finished precision-browning your bread, bagel, waffle, pastry and more, it drops it down through a trapdoor and onto a serving tray. Description
Turn fruits, vegetables, egg shells, coffee grounds, grains and more into fresh nutrient-rich organic fertilizer in only two weeks with the cool new NatureMill Plus - Automatic Kitchen Composter ($299). Unlike the those big complicated outdoor compost bins, this unique indoor/outdoor compact unit is simple to use and fully automatic.
Simply toss in all your food scraps and other compatible organic waste at any time, any day, up to 120 lbs per month! The unit mixes the waste every four hours until it is completely ground down into small particles. Then it is heated and aerated for 3-5 days for finishing before being dropped down into the bottom chamber. Don't worry about odors, because it's completely sealed, features continuous air flow, uses a powerful carbon filter and is made of antibacterial plastic.
I predict that automatic compact composters like this NatureMill Plus will be just as common in homes in the future as the recycle bin or garbage can. Just imagine how much food waste you have tossed in the garbage so far in your lifetime. Now multiply that by nearly every human on the planet - EVER! Scary. (via Michael Kiely)

Hagen CatIt Drinking Fountain Dome

Description
My cat absolutely loves this cool new Hagen CatIt Drinking Fountain Dome ($40). Unlike regular water bowls, the CatIt filters, purifies and continuously recirculates fresh, pure water up and over the dome like a waterfall. Cats, puppies, bunnies and other small pets can either drink from the bowl or directly from the water flowing over the dome.
The dome's large surface area adds more oxygen (O2) to the water, which not only helps to ensure proper kidney function, but decreases crystal formations and prevents urinary disease. It features a large 100 oz water capacity, includes a bonus food bowl that attaches to the side, is whisper quiet and has a replaceable filter that removes fur, debris, bad tastes, and odors. It even has a protective plastic guard on the power cord to thwart cats who like to chew on them.
It only took the cat a day to get used to it, but now she hangs around it all day, either licking the dome or curiously pawing at the falling water. It's actually quite tranquil and peaceful and I almost want to bring it to the office as a cool desktop fountain just for myself! (via Michael Kiely)
