About Me

I’m the “father of fitness walking with poles”‚ (exerstriding/Nordic walking) and an internationally recognized fitness authority. I like to remind people that the word “exercise” means “put to use”. Far too many people have been turned off to exercise and do not enjoy the many health and fitness benefits of regular physical activity because far too many popular exercise prescriptions put the body to abuse, not good use. I’ve spent more than half of my adult life promoting the fun and tremendous benefits of regularly putting your entire body to good use with poles and easy-to-learn techniques that turn walking into a total body, total fitness building good use exercise.
