This film had me crying. Get some tissues before you see it. A young sheltered blind woman is befriended by a young man who shows her a different world. Gripping drama that will really pull at your heart. (via Amazon)

I Remember Mama

Description

Again, one of my older sister's really liked this film and on her recommendation, I have watched it. Its really good about family and sticking together. Also, there are two nice bonuses: you get to one of the early perfomances of Barbara Bel Geddes, thats Ms. Ellie from Dallas to you and me. Not to mention Ellen Corby she play the cantakerous grandma on The Waltons. (via Netflix)

Claudine

First to recommend

Description

This is a classic film done with care. I first saw this film when I was child with my family. Claudine is a period piece that deserves to be viewed. Diahn Carol and James Earl Jones give strong perfomances as two people trying to build a life together. The soundtrack which was done by Motown greats "Gladys Knight and the Pips" was played in our household many times. (via Amazon)

Seven stars brighten this film. See it for them alone. This film was made at the beginning of all of their careers.

Planet of the Apes Movie

When I was a kid my older sister used to go crazy every time this movie came on tv. I didn't really understand why for a long time. After a night of hanging out with friends, I recently sat down and finally watched this film. Man, I can see why she really liked it. Its quite a masterpiece. So this recommendation is really for my older sister a true fan of the film. Little sister finally caught up to the fascination. (via Amazon)

Amazon: West Side Story (Full Screen Edition) with Natalie Wood and Rita Moreno

Description

My list wouldn't be complete without this film. The highlight: the dancing. Gotta love the dancing. George Chakiris and Rita Moreno didn't get Oscars for nothing. If you can buy the collector's edition then do that. It has a lot extras. This is a must for any movie buff. (via Amazon)

The Children's Hour

2 people recommended this item

Description

I recently saw this film on televison and "wow". Great performances by three legendary actors, Audrey Hepburn, Shirley McClain, and James Garner. Audrey Hepburn and Shirley McClain are two friends that run an all girls school. When they have to discipline one of their students, the little girl hatches a lie that changes the lives of everyone. Believe it or not this is remake of an earlier film done by the same director William Wyler. In the original "These Three", the studio made him change the story line because the subject matter was deemed "too sensitive". However, he held out and got to make the film he really wanted to make. He succeeds in "The Children's Hour". (via Amazon)
