About valerielecoeur:
Born and raised in France, I moved to New York City in 1994 to study PR and never left the States. Years later, I was married, and like a lot of professional women, set aside my career to start a family. I was devoted to raising our newborn daughter, but nevertheless needed an outlet for my creativity. I didn’t know what to expect when our daughter, Zoë, was born in 2002. But because she was such a good baby, I had a lot of time on my hands.
Inspired by French maternity fashion, I set out to offer American women the same snug-fitting maternity tees with fun graphics that I'd bought for myself in France. And so Zoë b was born in May, 2005. After a successful launch, the company quickly grew and evolved. Today, Zoë b is quickly moving toward 100% organic products. As a mother of two now (with a third on the way), I am greatly concerned with my impact on the environment:
I’m really excited to offer a line of organic and fair-trade maternity wear. When you become pregnant, you definitely see a shift in your attitude toward just about everything. For instance, I began eating more organic food, and now I choose organic products whenever possible for my family. Organic clothing just makes sense for me, on both a personal and professional level. The way I see it, I’m contributing to the health of this planet, as well as helping Peruvian farmers provide a better life for their families. It’s a win-win situation for everybody.
I am not an eco-evangelist, but I like to share all the great eco-friendly and organic products I come across. Zoë b Organic Weekly was born out of a need to spread the word online about some great products and companies—all of which are dedicated to making a difference by being more mindful of the world we live in.
