Very Secret Order T-shirt

Description
veer.com has some quirky but interesting t-shirts with messages that are clever, and not in your face or tiresome. Being 'font savants', their print is always interesting

Nikon USA: D40 Kit

Description
D40 is a nice base to build on. More economical than the D50. the Nikon 28-200 lens is convenient and a good value, even if it seems ridiculously expensive initially at $900

Trocadero French Bistro - Milwaukee
First to recommend
Description
Granola-sophisticate french inspired restaurant. Great french bistro food, but also Morocca. Good cheese and pate plates. Great selection of wine and drinks. Best Mojito in a french place? Go figure, but as close as you're going to get to a European Bistro in Milwaukee. Reminds me of an Austin, Texas favorite called Castle Hill. Worth a visit.

Pyramid Meditation Timer

Description
Cool looking timer with a soothing bell before and after your meditation period is over. No annoying ticking, no need to keep sneaking a peek at how much time has passed (in fact you can't do it, the smooth pyramid is inscrutable until time's up).

Restaurant RIVA in Linköping

Description
Italian fare right in Linkoping's night club district. A great place to get a window seat and people watch over antipasti. Food's a big expensive ($35 entrees) but quite well done. The waitresses are mod and edgy, but efficient. A big boat right in the middle of the restaurant adds a nautical touch

Tepatulco Restaurante : Chicago
First to recommend
Description
Unusual mexican resturant. Chef Gino Bahena has worked in some high falutin places around Chicago (Topolobampo, Icxapuzalco etc.). This place has the good mole sauce he's famous for, but more affordable. Great music lounge (Kingston Mines) next door. Food highly recommended, service well meaning but unremarkable.

No swirling or gargling required. A good provence rose for your summer quaffing. 100% organic, a mild grapefruit nose, with a hint of lavender (as anything Provence would have)

Feast: A History of Grand Eating
First to recommend
Description
If you want to party like a pro, or throw one .. learn from your ancestors (especially Roman ones). This book walks you thru the history of feasts, and how inventions like ice, sugar and forks changed them. What foods went from faddish to forbidden. Gets a bit dry at the end, but the prehistory is worth the price of the book

Cillar de Silos

Description
The best $15 wine I've had. Fruit forward, silky tannins, great nose. Most Cillar de Silos wines go for $40+, so I never paid attention. I'm having a hard time finding any more of it, hopefully you've better luck
