Fresh Bread ~ Sicilian Green Olive with Hot Cherry Peppers : : When Pigs Fly

First to recommend

Description

Should I admit I ate almost an entire loaf of this by myself in a day? Plain?

I bought it fresh from the shop, but When Pigs Fly bakery deliver via FedEx. The variety of breads is dazzling.

My hips are relieved I don't live where I can get WPF fresh, but my taste buds are still crying and I'm Hoovering for breadcrumbs. (via When Pigs Fly)

Akawelle Jewelry ~ Handmade African Jewelry from Bullets

First to recommend

Description

I love art pieces with a story, and ~boy~ do these necklaces come with serious history. Each pendant is crafted from a bullet fired during the Liberian civil war, transformed into a thing of beauty.

Even if you don't buy a piece, check out the website. Akawelle jewelry was conceived by a 16-year-old former refugee who uses the proceeds from the sale of her work to help others.

J.R. Watkins Natural Products | Watkins Lemon Pepper

First to recommend

Description

You'd think that pepper would be pepper, but no. Watkins makes the absolute best black pepper I have ever tasted. Even better than any fresh ground. I have no idea how or why their's is so special, but I am totally hooked. Even more special is the Lemon Pepper.

And the stuff is even reasonably priced. I can get it at my local grocery store for even less than online. But the official site offers freebees and fun stuff and a wider range of fabulous products. (via JR Watkins)

Capogiro Gelato : Fine Artisanal Gelato and Sorbetto

3 people recommended this item

Description

I'm one of those weirdos that loves basil, chilis or chestnuts in my ice cream (that could be made out of goat's milk), so Capogiro's eclectic menu fits my palate. But they also carry top notch versions of classic flavors.

One might think it is a lot of trouble to mail order gelato. I'm going to tell you something: this is totally worth it.

We hosted a party and served a choice of 6 of these babies for dessert. Not a bit was left, even of the lime cilantro sorbet -- and that was tried by the guy who claimed he hates sorbet.

Drat. Now I want some gelato, and there's none in the freezer.

Capogiro has two storefronts in Philadelphia, if you are lucky enough to live there or visit. I'm so jealous of those who do because they get to try the really weird stuff, like beet and orange gelato. (via Capogiro)

Flower Gnome-Be-Gone

I want this guy to protect my strawberry plants soooooo badly. I can't understand why my husband thinks I am crazy to think he is the most adorable little monster.

Made of recycled hardware by sculpture artist Fred Conlon, this dude is handmade and meant to develop a patina over time.

*sigh* My husband got his big giant shed for the yard. I think I should be able to have one little tin critter. (via Uncommon Goods)

Adagio Teas

3 people recommended this item

Description

My husband bought me this neat-o gadget for Christmas. I hardly get to use it because he steals it all the time. And he's not even a tea drinker.

Or at least he wasn't until we both started buying teas from this fantastic company. My favorite feature is mixing my own special blends, but my husband is fond of their Foxtrot tea. Adagio's shipping prices are very inexpensive and they are fast. (via Adagio Tea)

Tokyomilk ~ Lapsang Su Chang parfum 08

First to recommend

Description

Winter moss, asuka rose, sandalwood and black currant combined into a warm, sensual scent. I prefer light, unisex notes to floral, and this is a wonderful blend, although I think the rose adds a delicious touch of femininity.

I also love Contemplation and Poe's Tobacco (which despite its name, smells divine and I hate all things smoking related). (via Amazon.com)

hoolala :: Let Them Eat Cake Marie Antoinette Large Silver Charm Necklace from Hoolala

First to recommend

Description

Marie Antoinette may never have uttered the words "Let them eat cake" but my beloved Freddie Mercury definitely did when he sang one of my favorite songs, "Killer Queen" with the fabulously popular rock group Queen in the 70s.

Hoolala charms me again with another creation, so I had to share.

DJ Strang Jewelry: Tanzanite, Moonstone and Silver Necklace

Description

Carefully selected materials and creative design are the halllmarks of DJ Strang's fabulous jewelry line. I love the elegant way the silver strand offsets the longer tanzanite rondell beads. (via Etsy)
