World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
4 people recommended this item
Description
I like "realistic" horror/end of the world style stories (like "I am legend" the book, and "Children of Men" the movie), and this is supposed to be the book that reinvented the zombie genre. On my to-read list.

Description
Our Sony PS3 has had many uses in the house lately, there's quite a bit of depth baked into that product.

R/C Laser Tag Shocking Tanks

Description
It's a lot of fun to watch other people play this - the shocks are powerful enough to elicit real fear. This was one of the most memorable #games we played in the rent.com office.

It's amazing what you can find on someone's ipod and this will test your knowledge of it. This game works with up to four ipods (nano or 30/80 GB only) and will bring loads of laughs and tons of fun as you try to guess that song, artist, or album. I have a feeling this will take the place of many board games this winter. (via chrissie)

Parcheesi
2 people recommended this item
Description
Parcheesi has come back into rotation at our house. It's fairly simple, but has enough strategy to keep our interest and is fun and plays quickly.
I wouldn't recommend playing with anyone that you already have a strained relationship with, because they're going to be PI**ED when you block them for half the game like I do! You can play with 2 people if you use all 4 positions and have each person take 2 diagonals.

BOB Revolution single stroller
4 people recommended this item
Description
We got this stroller as a gift when we had our first child, and I'm continually impressed by the little design decisions that make it work so well. Big wheels, easy locking/unlocking front wheel (you want it locked for running but not for walking), foot settable, solid feeling brake, well designed storage spaces. I'd highly recommend this to other parents - and getting a cupholder attachment that goes across the handles.

Time Machine Childrens Time Management System

Description
This has got to be the world's lamest time machine. Instead of letting you move through time, it tries to make you stop watching TV and playing video games after a certain amount of time.

Personal Trainer Cooking for Nintendo DS
First to recommend
Description
I recently bought this as a gift "for my wife". It's a collection of about 250 recipies from all over the world, with simple instructions to walk you through getting the ingredients, preparing and cooking. It has voice recognition (to go forward and back) so that you can keep your hands free - this was a little quirky for us, but worked reasonably well.
The recipe collection is great, and it's probably easier to use than a cookbook for many people. A very cool "game", and the kind of application that someone should develop for smartphones as well.

Boom Blox (Wii game by Steven Spielberg and EA)

Description
I just tried this game for the first time last weekend, and I really enjoyed it. Think of bizarro jenga, where you try to knock over as many blox as possible. The game gives you the ability to edit and create your own levels too.

I've been a fan of curries (Thai and otherwise) for a long time, but haven't ever made any at home. We recently got a family...
