Sysadmin / Software Engineer
ThisNext is looking for a talented sysadmin / software engineer who is passionate and wants to make a big impact as part of a small, dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Perl, Apache, shell scripting, Mac/Windows/Ubuntu system administration, and networking. This person will be the primary contact and first line of support for corporate system administration tasks and will help define Intranet and corporate network standards. Skills: System Administration (Mac, Windows, Ubuntu Linux), networking (ethernet, TCP/IP, filesharing), Perl, shell scripting.

Software Engineer

This person is someone who can use Perl as a serious high level programming language in large, complex, high performance applications. Because we are a startup, this person is also someone who can work as a member of the team to keep the entire IT infrastructure operating at peak efficiency. Sales & Business Development
Business Development Manager
This person reports to the Director of Marketing and will play a critical role in outward business development and marketing strategy for ThisNext.com. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of externally facing marketing strategy and business development initiatives that deliver month over month high value results. The successful candidate has a proven track record of delivering those results.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Crafting a high probability and smart targeted partner pipeline
- Quickly and aggressively qualifying potential partnerships
- Strategically and effectively reaching out to potential partners
- Setting up meetings and pitching ideas at the highest level of professionalism and knowledge
- Closing high value deals
- Managing ongoing partner relationships towards maximum ROI and optimal referral strategy
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience working in an outwardly facing marketing and business development role with a demonstrable record of success
- Proven leadership abilities to deliver on pipeline and projections
- Ability to think and act with a highly entrepreneurial focus to accomplish and detail
- Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide variety of personalities
- Ability to execute on goals time over time
- Proven track record working in media business delivering high impact content distribution deals and building long term relationships
- Experience working in online shopping and social networking environments a big plus
- 4 year college degree and MBA or equivalent experience preferred

Marketing, Product, Content & Community
Community Manager
ThisNext seeks community managers who can manage online staff and develop content in verticals like parenting, gadgets/tech, mens, fashion/beauty, outdoors/fitness and design/living. Hires are responsible for guiding/inspiring shopping recommendations and managing marketing initiatives, contests and promotional content creation. Must have a background both working with online social media and participating personally. Background blogging is a plus.

Web Designer
As the Web Designer for ThisNext, you'll create new pages, special sections and promo campaigns for the main site and our Facebook apps. You should have design experience with consumer-oriented Web 2.0 brands and understand the visual language of social sites, as well as actively participate in them. If you enjoy a fun, fast-paced environment and like to be challenged, this is the place to be.
Job Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of professional web/user interface design experience working for startups or design firms.
- A strong eye for typography and color combined with a clean, contemporary visual aesthetic.
- Ability to roll out the existing brand ID for interactive and static elements
- Able to collaborate with product managers, developers and marketing in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Take direction well. Strong attention to detail and timeliness.
- Expertise in Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 required.
- Knowledge of Flash, HTML, CSS and print media is desired, though not required.
