It's pretty, it's useful, it glows. What more could you ask for? Control your computers volume, scroll through a web page or scrub your video. All with a big metal, glowing knob.

I first bought this item because I'm a sucker for cool-looking peripherals for my Mac, but it turns out that this USB multimedia controller adds a lot of functionality that you just don't find in your mouse. Program it for use in almost any software that you use and you'll find yourself turning to the Powermate for most of the routine functions that would otherwise require key commands or navigating menu options. For laptop computers without the new scrolling trackpads, it is indispensible for web-page scrolling.

Uh, like MR Hamr said, it's a cool alternative to a computer mouse with many handy uses. And now there's new, Windows Vista-compatible software available from Griffin's website. (via hamrhead)
