Sycamore Mineral Springs

Recommended by

Description

I spent a few days at Sycamore Springs resort in San Luis Obispo around this time last year, which was one of the most beautifully amazing getaways of my life. Sycamore Springs is known for their mineral baths - they have lots of jacuzzi-sized outdoor tubs that are nestled into the hillside, and the water's really rich in sulfur (good for your respiratory system and your skin - in fact, after about a half-hour in the tub, all the blemishes on my chin were cleared away). I got a delicious ayurvedic facial (during which my aesthetitian poured hot oil onto my scalp - yummm...), had a chakra-balancing energy treatment, walked the labyrinth, and went on a fabulous hike up the hillside and over to the ocean (sooo gorgeous). The lodging's also divine: I had a lovely, roomy cottage with a fireplace and a back deck that included my own private spring-water hot tub, and during the evenings I'd soak in the tub while reading books and eating Dove chocolate bars. Pure heaven. I can't wait to go back again someday.
