This is a new design on the concept of the dumbell. The purpose beign is to allow for easy stacking of the weights without having a weight rack. The heavist weight that these things come in is 10 pounds so if you had a stack of these and they fell, it would not do to much damage. They are also coated so that you don't need gloves to lift them.
