Next2Friends is a relatively new social networking site with some twists. The core of their service are their mobile phone apps that work on Nokias, BlackBerrys, Windows Mobile and more.

After a simple sign up, you can get the 'Live' app and stream a live video feed (from your phone's camera) straight to a dedicated web page - great for live events. You can store the video and any pictures you take as well.

The 'Live' app has some cool functions - such as active profile broadcasting. If you pass another Live user with similar/compatible interests, your phone will inform you both.

Another cool feature is the ability to take a pic, then ask other users of the site what they think - all from your phone. A neat idea when clothes shopping.

I don't see the site replacing MySpace or Facebook anytime soon, but the innovative mobile apps are a lot of fun and cool additions to your online world.
