Even though I lived in New England for a few years, the Windsor chair never grew on me. We had one in the house and I even understood it's usefulness. It's just, unless it was made of tiger maple (whose pattern overcomes my ambivalence about most types of furniture) I just didn't find it pretty. Now this Mennonite storage bench serves the same useful mudroom/entry way purpose but is of a far more appealing design. I particularly enjoy the drawers under the seat, clearly the designer understood the value of storage.
