Ancient & endangered forests are being destroyed for virgin toilet paper. By using recycled paper you can do good and stay clean! Check out www.nrdc.org/paper.

Not the most glamorous product out there, but this might be the simplest step to change the world by answering nature’s call the green way—without felling more trees. Seventh Generation’s bathroom tissue is 100% recycled with a minimum of 80% post-consumer materials and whitened without chlorine bleach. Imagine the difference you could make over your lifetime by using just this one product!

Tell people that you use recycled toilet paper and you might get a few strange looks-but Seventh Generation makes you feel good about using their products, and it's not like using the toilet paper at a truck stop...you know what I mean ;)

Using this toilet tissue (as opposed to major supermarket brands) saves trees and water and keeps dangerous chemicals out of the environment where they accumulate in the body tissues of people and animals. It is made from 100% recycled paper with 80% post-consumer materials, which keeps re-usable resources out of landfill and protects valuable virgin natural resources.

and -- not to get too graphic here -- it's just the right texture, and strength. I have been conditioned to think the product in the green box will not be as good as the product in the bright orange box (cf anything from Snackwells). But, in this case, the green product suits me better. (via deirdrewallace)
