The State of California is thinking of banning all polycarbonate containers. Including baby bottles. Here's why:

Most major U.S. baby bottle manufacturers, such as Avent and Dr. Brown's, use the chemical Bisphenol-A in their production. Studies have shown that polycarbonate bottles have been found to leach potentially harmful levels of a toxic chemical (BPA) linked to developmental, neural and reproductive problems

I've switched to these bottles as a precation.
