I was struck by the detailing in this depiction of Buddha in silent meditation by Balinese master carver Nyoman Karsa. The radiance and depth that emanate from this piece, come partially from the golden brown deep grain of the crocodile wood he uses. However, the overall effect is one of grace, reflection and light.
