Panasonic make the best cameras this is a good camera for new filmmakers, its a 3 chipper and very small and light. for filmmakers with a little more money to spend I would recomend the AG-DVC30 a truly beautiful camera that captures colors briliantly and still very light weight. It is the camera I use and love the images I get.

Had this camera a few years now and still very happy with it. Picture quality is as good as any higher spec camera and it is fraction of the price. Only draw back is that you can not manually white balance like you can on some other camcorders.
