My pick for Movie of the Year in 2007. David Cronenberg reteamed with Viggo Mortenson for a dark, intense thriller about the Russian mob in London. Viggo Mortenson once again disappears into his performance and gives us a wonderfull original character and the rest of the cast (Naomi Watts, Sinead Cusack, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Vincent Cassel) is at the top of their game. The violence is brief but masterfully done, and Canadian film fans will revel in Cronenberg finally hitting a masterful stride.

Oh yes, and the bathhouse scene IS everything you've heard and more. It's easily one the most intense and startling fight scenes ever filmed.
