For small amounts of shredding or immediate disposal of your private papers; these scissors will help do the job. Hand held and comfortable to use.

Shredders are pretty necessary - especially during a certain, dreadful, part of the year. In my home, we have a shredder the size an average kitchen trash can. I hate the way it looks, and that's why it stays in the No-Women-Aloud workshop. I find that a scissor-sized shredder would be a whole lot easier to hide & they have that on-the-go convenience as well.

good to have around the house or at the office.

"In this day and age, we should all be careful about what documents end up in the trash. And now, you don't have to invest in a big, noisy shredder to protect yourself. This pair of shredder scissors is perfect for those small items that you want to shred like voided checks or store receipts. Easy and fun to use, shredder scissors make a great gift for the home, office or dorm room. Made in China." (via uncommongoods.com)

For small, clandestine shred jobs- like hotel receipts from exotic encounters. Or, in my case, to cover your tracks when you buy shoes that aren't on sale.....

See ...Now why didn't I think of this. This is a great idea if you get like one piece of mail that you would to shred really quickly ...ie. Credit card offers, etc. I have small children so I keep my shedder OFF and UNPLUGGED. Now there's no need to plug in and power up the super powered cross cutter shredder just to get rid of something small. Quick and easy. Great idea. I'm getting it.

No kidding. With a toddler running about, I'm in the same boat. I hate admitting how much of a hassle firing up the shredder is, but now I don't have to.
