You can get a holga for pretty cheap and it'll last you pretty much forever. Durable, versatile and great for experimental photography. You can use 120 film as well as 35 mm, give it a polaroid back or use it as a pinhole camera.

120 roll film in a toy camera? Need I say more?

Actually, I guess I do. This camera forces you to let go of your internal perfectionist because it just doesn't have the ability to produce perfection... You and the camera collaborate to create the photograph. You supply the framing and the subject, the Holga camera supplies random light leaks and a large square image. A match made in heaven if you aren't a contral freak.

I love the nostalgic photos you can take with a camera. It practically does all the "artistic" work for you. For under $50, a Holga is such a fun camera to have - you'll never be sorry you started using one! (via lizshuman)

first of all you can get a Holga for $20... it is a great addition for any fun-loving photographer... it takes 120 film which most (read: good) camera shops can process, it's all plastic and all manual so the creativity is endless with it. sweet vignetted, square images it does produce and light leaks galore... why the hell not?

This is a completely plastic camera with great results: characteristic vignetting, light leaks.
