This extinguisher takes care of the THREE MOST COMMON types of fires:
A) Ordinary Combustibles - Trash, plastics, wood, and cloth.
B) Flammable Liquids - Gasoline, petroleum oil, paint, butane and propane, but this DOES NOT include cooking fires involving cooking oil and grease.
C) Energized electrical equipment - such as motors, transformers and appliances, take away the power and the fire falls into another class. (via www.firesafetysource.com)
