Nirvana's Unplugged session was recorded six days after the only time I ever saw them live. I like to save this record for when it's really cold out and I can just hide under my covers and drink tea and, you know, brood.

"Unplugged" contains some well done renditions of favorite Nirvana songs ("About A Girl", "Pennyroyal Tea", "Come As You Are"), as well as surprising (and ultimately terrific) covers specifically, "Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam", "The Man Who Sold The World", "Oh, Me" and "Lake Of Fire".

I've always thought that they could have come out and done a basic "greatest hits" session and gotten away with it. Considering how big they were at the time. However, they came out and showed remarkable creativity, versatility and just rocked. (via amazon.com)

It was the last Nirvana collection recorded before Kurt Cobains death. Many might even call it the most classic of them all. It was Nirvana. But, it was toned down and acoustic, but still raw and real Nirvana. It was MTV Unplugged, something awesome that they use to do, but still should do.

It's tough to admit that Nirvana's regular works never did much for me excluding a few songs. I didn't see what was so revolutionary. This album changed that. Amazing versions of their own stuff and great covers as well. (via bravenewgirl)

I've listened to this album so much, I even know what Kurt says between songs.
