I don't know if anyone else has noticed but the Moleskine Notebook is the most recommended item on this website. Now they are launching this City Notebook. The first is for London with all major cites to follow. This enables you to write your own travel journal with handy maps and guides to hand.

I love the idea of creating your own guide... chosing your own path... this book gives me the ability to be my own tour guide. Sweet idea!

A notebook where you can share all your interesting information about the city. Compile as you go, review as you go...it really is a great idea from Moleskin. But does this mean that everyone will now be their own city guide? I think it should

The Moleskine City Notebooks are the perfect mix of a travel guide and a notebook, with maps, blank pages, and little pockets to create your own personalized travel guide. But so far they've been a little hard to find. Thankfully FLIGHT001 carries them, so I just ordered Paris and Barcelona for an upcoming trip. Features metro maps, station index, zone maps and street index, 42 blank pages, 96 notched pages for your city file, 32 detachable sheets, 12 translucent sticky sheets to trace, and expandable inner pocket. And of course, the signature elastic band to keep everything closed ans safe.

All my friends have the travel bug ~ and this is definitely the perfect gift ~ perhaps coupled with the DK city guide, i can't imagine anything else they'd need... except possibly a translator.

Never forget what you did, where you went, or who you know in Europe's best cities. And with the map, there's no excuse for ever getting lost either.

absolutely indispensible. as a student studying abroad in rome for the semester, i am constantly referring to the notebook's comprehensive street index, street maps, and mini-transportation map. offering plenty of blank pages for whatever you feel like writing, it also includes pages separated into sections divided by tabs with cute little icons of a musical note, a book, or a smiley face, for example, so you can write down the great places, address and random things that you find. like most moleskin notebooks, it has a built-in folder in the back to save valuable little scraps of info. the city notebook is available for a few cities at the moment, but i am sure they will expand.

The make your own travel guide idea is sheer genius! The Moleskine City Notebook gives you the bare bones necessities followed by blank pages you fill with your own favorites. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to compile my own collection of business cards and match book covers that chronicle my travels many times. This makes so much sense! The guides so far only include the most major cities in the US and Europe. Think how great it would be if you had a friend coming to your own (say, New York) and you put together a travel guide for them so their transition was much easier!

I love the way it feels. The size and weight of it are very satisfying. It fits into my back pocket where I can whip it out and write down must-see recommendations from the locals.

So handy when travelling thanks to the handy maps so you don't have to carry around a whole bunch of seperate bits in your bag. The different sections (restaurants, musts, avoid) are really fun - we had a ball using ours.

I lived in New York for six months and would not have gotten around without it! Features I enjoyed were subway and close up street maps, transparent post-it's for trip planning, and the empty sections designed for you to fill in with favorite spots to visit and their information. Soooooo good! Makes me feel like a true New Yorker and not just a tourist because I always know where I'm going!

my husband LOVES these things-has 4 or 5 cities and a number of blank and ruled ones for various purposes. they are a great pocket size to stash in your purse or whatever and just seem classier than your typical notebook ; )

I'm such a big fan of Moleskine! These notebooks are the perfect mix of a travel guide and a notebook, with maps, blank pages, stickers, a tabbed archive, ... The best? The translucent sticky sheets for tracing your routes and sharing itineraries! I absolutely love it... having made other personalized guides before, this one is so practical and has everything you need... Besides, you avoid looking like a tourist!
