Something just triggered my memory and reminded me of this book, which I haven't thought about for years, but I can't figure out what it was...anyway, this book is one of the most clever and intelligent works of children's literature I know of. It's full of fantasy, irony, and grammatical and linguistic humor. Every kid should follow the very bored main character, Milo, through the mysterious tollbooth that appears in his bedroom one day.

By far one of my favorite books ever. This is such an imaginative tale that takes the reader through everyday life with a twist. An actual watch dog, spelling bee and words literally getting caught at the tip of your tongue are just a sampling of what Milo finds on the other side of the tollbooth. A must read for any age!
