This game has been created by Gabe and Tycho of Penny Arcade and the super smart people at Hothead Games. It's an episodic (think comic books) game with pulp meets horror meets sci-fi meets rpg. It combines 2D and 3D elements seamlessly and is available for digital download for Mac, Linux and Windows (hopefully some portable consoles as well). The game is a hilarious and unique story line which places you in control of strange weapons in a highly stylized early 1900s universe. Everything about it looks unique and fun, and you know the guys from Penny Arcade, famous for skewering bad games have put a lot of effort into it to not make the same stupid mistakes so many games have put in them. I cannot wait to get this game.
The guys at Penny Arcade have done it again. I would say they have the Midas Touch, but they can still eat food so... anyways. Anything they touch turns if not to gold, then at the least, to 'awesome'. The game play is simple, fresh, and engaging. From the 'minigame' Special Attacks, to the easy click-and-move-or-really-just-do-anything controls, to the well written dialogue trees. It has it all, fast-paced combat that doesn't overwhelm. Hilarious dialogue written by the boys themselves. Great art. Great premiss. Amazing Lovecraft meets Steampunk storyline. Best of all? Sequels are in the works! Get it, play it, revel in it.
