You only really need 4 types of glasses: Bordeaux, Burgundy, White, and Champagne. Each shape brings out the particular characteristics of that type of wine. Spiegelau are almost as good as Reidel quality-wise, but they are less expensive and tend to be sturdier.

They are not that expensive compared to the Riedel. I have never broken one of these, and I put them in the dishwasher!
