Stephen Marley gets it right, the production on "Mind Control" institutes soulful beats and instrumentation as if it's a Motown release, this works extremely well with Stephen Bob Marleys endowed voice. The song writing on Mind Control provides Stephen a method in which his sound can be instantly recognized as pure Marley and at the same time distinguishes his style from the rest of his family. Mind Control is not retro, guest artist such as Mos Def, Mr Cheeks, Jr Gong(Damian Marely), Ben Harper and Maya Azucena keep Mind Control current by favoring good music choices over of-the-moment gimmick thus avoiding the miss steps which would have aged the music and in a short time making it irrelevant.
