Currently available only to developers, the SPOT technology offers high-efficiency, tiny computers with built-in mesh networking and sensor modules. How is this green? Because already Sun is using the SPOT system to build ad-hoc environmental sensor grids, with the potential to give us a remarkably detailed view of our ecological footprint.
