  I spent years in search of the perfect rocking chair. I know that I am not old enough to say that but it is true, I have a rocking chair. I wanted it for when my kids were babies and the Kennedy Rocker was the perfect rocking chair. There may be a few versions of the Kennedy Rocker but the one from Carolina Rocking Chair Company is the real one. It's the one you see pictures of JFK sitting in. Every chair is stamped and signed. OK, so you are wondering why the Kennedy Rocker is the best rocking chair ever, right? * The give on your back and the seat are just right. You don't sink into it but it moves enough. Solid wood needs pillows and pillows are too soft. * The back is the right height. Your head rests against the back. Not too hard, not too soft. * It has a subtle rock. No need to swing wildly like every kid wants. The Kennedy Rocker moves the right amount. My only complaint is that the rock is a little off on a hard wood floor. I keep it on carpet. * The armrests... oh, here is the real beauty of the Kennedy Rocker. The front of the armrests, where your hands go, is wide. The back where you elbows go is narrowed so that your elbows don't hit wood. It is cut to fit a human's arms. The Carolina Rocking Chair Co. knew what it was doing when it designed this. JFK had a bad back and sat in his rocking chair to ease the pain on his back. The Kennedy Rocker is perfect even if you don't have back pain... just a desire to gently rock in a comfortable chair.
