A serious album to drink and remember to...alone. Or perhaps with one other friend that REALLY likes Tom Waits. He is definitely an acquired taste. To some, his voice is like "nails on a chalkboard". I find his sometimes strained growl endearing, reassuring and authentic. This album is dreamy...hazy and tastes like the best dirty martini you have ever had. (via deepdiscount.com)

This album was the soundtrack of my sad and twisted life in the late 1980's. The music is so wistful, melancholic, and deeply realized that I feel stabbed to the very core of my soul every time I listen to it. Definitely not "easy" listening...
