I'm a cupcake addict and can even be highly satisfied with a package of Hostess Cupcakes (actually, *especially* with - those things are damn good). I've only had a Sprinkes cupcake once, but it was a divine experience. My cupcake was red velvet, which turns your tongue bright-red. So much fun.

Sprinkles cupcakes can be ordered ahead and picked up, or delivered locally (right now, I only know of the Beverly Hills and Newport Beach locations). Now, I have to put a disclaimer here because I don't like the way the Sprinkles Cupcakes taste. However, there is a very large contingent of die-hard fans that finds the solid, dense cake covered with an impossibly thick layer of saccharin sweet frosting utterly addictive. What I DO like about Sprinkles Cupcakes is that they are adorably decorated. The cupcakery will work with you to appropriately decorate cupcakes for any occasion, too. Of course, since there ARE people who go into ecstatic frenzy over the things, I don't mind buying them as gifts or for a party. (I just look, but don't touch).

I don't eat a lot of sweets. I love the idea of sweets and buy them but I just don't eat them. Cupcakes (and certain cookies) are an exception. Mmmmmm... I like cupcakes. Especially good cupcakes. Then there are tasty cupcakes that also look good. Sprinkles makes cupcakes that look worthy of Wayne Thiebaud. Of course, my wife paints cupcakes and puts them on T-shirts but that's a different story.

Sprinkes was the cupcake store that started it all on the West Coast. They have flavors which are daily such as red velvet and vanilla, and speciality flavors which rotate like strawberry and coconut.

My friend and i waited for 10 minutes in line in the rain in beverly hills for these highly talked about cupcakes.... we got them to the car and finally bit in to our first sprinkle!! and guess what?? it was a cupcake... thats it... not a spectacular one, but an expensive cupcake w/ a hard candy dot on top. not a fan...

No trip to Beverly Hills is complete without a stop at the first, the best, trendy cupcake store. Sprinkles opened a couple years ago and has had lines around the block ever since. It's well worth the wait! The cupcakes are delicious, the flavors are always changing, and they even have mini cakes for your dogs. Crumbs is down the street, but I just don't see them beating dear Sprinkles in the Cupcake War of Beverly Hills.

Sprinkles is a fancy Beverly Hills bakery specializing in cupcakes and nothing but cupcakes. The most deliciously decadent cupcakes the world has ever seen. This is the end of the cupcake world as we know it. One bite and you'll never quite enjoy the betty crocker mix cupcake the same way again. If you haven’t heard, everyone is raving about Sprinkles including Oprah Winfrey, and people are waiting in line all the way down the street to get their $3.25 all-natural cupcake. The bakery will have other stores opening soon across the country.
