David Bowie's journey into American Soul music gave us two memorable albums, "Young Americans" and "Station To Station". Me, I love both of em. Station has always felt like a very complete album, but I always wondered it there was more left behind on tape that wasn't on the album. The Deluxe and Special Edition box sets add live tracks and rare photos as a way to contextualize Thin White Duke's post-Ziggy years. The packaging is a perfect extension of the original. In these days of digital music the design of printed container has been carefully reworked as not just a protective cover but as an object of desire. Towards this end the box sets made for "Station To Station" are very sexy.
