I found a bottle of 'Bitch' on Napacabs.com in vintage 2007. I was going to buy it strictly because of the name (yeah, I know). However, after reading several recommendations I figured that it probably wouldn't be so bad as a wine either. Plus, it's from Austrailia and they are known for some rather good wines. So, I bought it and it came FedEx delivered by my favorite driver.

I tried it last night with a couple of friends last night. Let me warn you first of all --- it's a screwtop. At first, this disturbed me. I'm no uber-serious wine expert, but I generally avoid screwtops, ala Mad Dog and Night Train. One of my friends optimistically noted that one of the best wines she had ever tried was a screwtop. So, I shrugged and poured myself a glass.

The color was medium-ruby, it had flavors of rhubarb, cherry, earth and strawberry, but was a little acidy at first. After I let my glass 'breath' a few minutes, some of the acid dispated and it was pretty tasty, supple and sweet. Still it wasn't the best wine I've had this year. I would recommend it as a hostess gift, a great gimmick gift, but do not give it to a wine snob. That is unless you're just doing it to tell them that they take wine too freakin' seriously. This is a great red wine. It has a great body and a nice strong berry flavor but not too fruity. It does have a little acidy bite but my sisters and I were sad when we emptied this bottle because we wanted more. The price is amazing and it has a 90 rating with Robert Parker, what more can you ask for. Love this wine. People buy as a gimmick to give to their girlfriends, but the taste is awesome and central Market in Dallas is always sold out when I go.

After hunting this stuff down for over a year I found a bottle. 2006, but Bitch nevertheless. I wanted to keep it on display for a year or so because I just wanted it for the bottle anyway (I'm shallow like that) but I couldn't resist. I opened it the same night and found out that I abhor the taste of wine (or at least red wine). I drank it anyway and kept the remaining 3/4 of it in my dorm freezer until my RA found it and confiscated it. So I spent about 13 bucks on it (just for the bottle) and now I don't have it at all.

Bottom line: I'm going out to find another bottle and this time I'm keeping it because it's so darn pretty and cute... that's why I recommend it :)

This wine rocks my socks off. I originally bought it for the packaging and the fact it had BITCH written all over the bottle, but after trying it, I buy a few bottles every week. I love it. Not too mention the alcohol content is higher.. :)

Yummy red with a cool symbol on the cap. I think it might be my next tattoo! Great for women with an attitude, who like their wine like their men, chocolate, and coffee; rich, dark and full bodied.
