i had a thing for claymation as a child and this movie is one of the best christmas flicks out there. its also narrated by fred estare which imediatly makes it all kinds of classic and great.
This 1970's Christmas claymation is everything that stupid holiday movies these days, like Fred Claus, are not (sorry Vince). Complete with cheerful, catchy song and dance, and a REAL story line, Fred Astaire shines as narrator. Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town "tells the story of Santa's origins, in which Kris Kringle decides to get toys into the hands of poor children in gloomy Sombertown." (From Amazon) Although this movie takes place in a bleak setting, and has a somber undertone, even the bad guys (Winter and the Burgermeister Meisterburger) end up being pure at heart. What else would you expect? This Christmas movie will last for generations to come. Share it with your children. It is truly a holiday movie like no other, and holds special significance to me.
