Lands' End Down Coat
This is the longest, warmest down coat you can get for your money. The Lands' End Chalet coat has gotten me through 4 tough NJ winters, 2 of which were spent commuting to NYC. I searched high and low for a great down coat because I get super-cold in the winter. While ankle-length would have been the best, this hits me mid-calf which is not bad for my 5'8" frame for only $119.50. And the best part is, you don't have to be too careful with it because you can just throw the coat in the wash. And it's so lightweight, unlike some heavy wool coats that aren't half as warm. For the price and warmth, it is number one. For the style, I think it's second only to The North Face's "Triple C" which is super long and shapely, but costs $300!
