An excellent premium boubon for drinking neat, Basil Hayden is also my go-to bourbon for cocktails. Mix your Manhattan around this when you're holding the Pappy Van Winkle's 20 year old in reserve for sippin'. (via Small Batch Bourbons)

My friend turned me on to Basil Hayden. It's better to have it on the rocks than neat. Can't explain it but I find myself asking for that now instead of my previous, Jameson. Good stuff. (via Netzoo)

I drink bourbron though most of the winter and this is a very nice, smooth and full bodied bourbon. Bourbon isn't for mixing but if you need a version that isn't so strong add soda water, not a sugary mixer.
