Scotch-Brite Scrub Sponge Made with Walnut Shells

When I have had my choice, I have always gone with Scotch-Brite when I buy sponges. They are durable, easy to sanitize and have a number of effective non-scratch varieties. This is a new product for me, and I haven't been disappointed.

Walnut shells are naturally abrasive, but won't scratch most household surfaces, including non-stick cookware. Although, it's best to test non-conspicuous areas on delicate dishware before you take out your frustrations using this sponge. The sponge is made from cellulose, derived from wood pulp, a renewable resource.

If you are allergic to nuts, however, this sponge may be a very bad idea.

It can be sanitized by boiling. (via drugstore.com)
