There's no way I can't give this album love. Not only is it one of the most fun summer albums i've listened to in a while, It's the brainchild of, my favorite actor Jason Shwartzman . Oh, and did i mention it features Zooey Deschanel, Kristen Dunst and even a whistling track from Brandon Boyd.

Jason Schwartzman who starred in "I Heart Huckabees," "The Darjeeling Limited," and was former drummer for the band Phantom Planet launched his solo project, Coconut Records in 2006. The debut album Nighttiming (2007) features an indie rock/folk/pop/dance sound as well as the hit "West Coast," which was the first single off the album. A renaissance man, Schwartzman played every instrument on this 12 track album and released it himself on his record label, Young Baby Records.

Coconut Records is Jason Schwartzman's music project. This is not just another vanity project, Jason used to drum with his brother's band, Phantom Planet, so he has a bit of cred. This album is full of pretty, tingly pop jems. "West Coast" is my favorite track.
