A slightly lesser version of the XSi, I have a feeling the XS is going to be VERY attractive to A LOT of people (um, me) who are in the market for an SLR but are still choking on paying 800 dollars or more on a camera... though at 699, we're still talking about a chunk of change, it's enough of a savings that I think the price break will turn out to pull in the crowds (me). And the differences between the two cameras for most folks will seem almost nonexistent.
Need I say yummy?

i've wanted one forever
and my parents gave me one for christmas
and i love it!
it intimidates me some, it's so much more 'camera' than the point-and-shoot i was used to (and complained about). but it's pretty intuitive and there are plenty of books to help with figuring out all the buttons.
