My favorite assignments in grade school were always diaramas. I'd light up at the idea of turning an old shoe box into a magical, mini-world! This one is a all-in-one kit for creating your own 'Great Wave'. Perfect for a rainy day.

Who didn't celebrate Diorama Day at school? Crafting tiny worlds from colored paper and it counts as homework! The joy.

A graceful, ancient paper craft revived and reinterpreted with these kits. Tatebanko is the Japanese art of creating stunning scenic perspectives as paper dioramas. Popular and widely admired from the 17th century (Edo period) to the early 20th century, the craft nearly disappeared.
The kits pay homage to famed Edo artists. (via Jolity.com)
