At the start of World War 1, Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart) is using his old steamer, The African Queen, to ferry supplies to villages in East Africa. When the Rev. Samual Sayer dies, Charlie agrees to take Sayers' sister, Rose (Katharine Hepburn), back to civilization. taking on the Germans at the same time.

Tjhis movie just can't be missed... A fabulous film!!!

I recently saw this in a big Hollywood-era theater that's been renovated, and what an experience. Sometimes I think old movies took their audiences a bit more seriously, and the African Queen is a perfect demonstration of that.
