This elaborate mask , "Viuda Negra" or Black Widow is based on the Catrina, a female archetype of the weeping lady seen in Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
One of the things that struck me about the mask is the overall level of detail. The painting on the mask itself, to the raised headpiece adorned with burnt/painted silk roses, red/black spiders, and the black rose lace that cascades down to the waist of the wearer. (via etsy.com)
